“Medioevo latino” is a complete bibliography (published annually since 1980) listing research in Medieval Studies from the preceding year and pertaining to texts written mostly in Latin between 475 and the beginning of the 16th century (a timespan which has been gradually extended over the years.) The complete and first-hand bibliographic examination of books, journals, bulletins concerning Medieval Latin culture and medieval culture and history, in general, incorporates the research of approximately 150 collaborators, working in 15 Italian and 10 foreign offices under the direction of the central editorial office in Florence. The distinguishing characteristic of the bibliography is a subject abstract for the majority of the entries cited. Over the years, the internal structure of the publication has become increasingly more articulated and now comprises six general sections (“Authors and texts” – “Fortleben” – “Topics, literary genres, institutions” – “Reference works” – “Congresses and miscellanea” – “Catalogue Manuscripts”), including four indices (“Index of manuscripts and prints” – “Lexicon” – “Geographical index” – “Index of scholars”), which make the bulletin, already well received by scholars all over the world, a unique and irreplaceable tool for anyone interested in this research area.
